Bound Surfaces

Resin bound surfacing is an exciting alternative for your patios and driveways. With a smoother profile, texture and appearance than a resin bonded surface, this coating is also available in many different sizes and colours to suit your decorative requirements. The aggregate material is mixed with a suitable resin compound and laid on the prepared surface to provide a smooth and aesthetically-pleasing resin bound surface.

A variety of materials can be used in resin bound surfaces, including recycled glass, pigmented and natural aggregates. Thortech International can provide Thorset™, among many other quality products for the job.

As with resin bonded systems, resin bound surfaces are most suitable for non-slip areas as the finish is not abrasive. Resin bound systems are also permeable – they allow surface water to drain through, complying with Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS).
